Benefits of Service (Seva)




Service is the highest spiritual disciple. It is the most efficient instrument to remove ego. Social service is service to God. This is the best way to earn God’s Grace.
Service activities has been categorised into 4 parts.
1-      Bhoutik (worldly service).
2-      Maansik Seva (Mental Service)
3-      Janana Seva (Intellectual Service)
4-      Atmik Seva (Spiritual Service)
Bhoutik Seva – Providing material things to needy is covered into this seva. It includes money, food, water,shelter, medical and educational support etc.
Mansik Seva – It refers to mental services done to needy. For example, we are not able to help anyone but pray to God with pure heart for relief or recovery then it is called mental service.
Jnana Seva – It refers to sharing intellectual or educational knowledge with the needy. For example selfless teaching to academically weak students, intellectual or spiritual talk, writing spiritual books etc.
Atmik Seva – It refers to spiritual activities like ved chanting, Nagar Sankirtan, Singing Bajan, Om chanting etc.
The joy one gets while promoting anothers joy is incomparable. Service expresses the divinity hidden in a man. It destroys bad karmas of past and broadens one’s heart, destroys narrow mindedness and gives delight. Evil qualities and tendencies are driven away.
Qualifications for Seva- Love, Compassion, Pure heart, humility and attitude to do selfless service.  
 Friends it is through seva only Hanuman attained identity with Ram. So let’s follow the path shown by our divine Master and experience bliss.
